My garment is inspired by the design techniques and silhouette of an older time. The Victorian era was a time when people wore beautiful, immaculate designs every day. Men and women were dressed with sophistication and wore dramatic garments made with beautiful fabrics. This coat mimics the style of a women’s jacket during the Victorian era. The cloak-like hang of this garment stems from women’s apparel during this time but the dramatic high collar look, actually resembles men’s coats during the Victorian ages. This garment emulates the past while still encouraging the style of today.
